Empowering Young Women with Disabilities Project gives young women with disabilities a chance to build community and find a safe space to address similar experiences relating to gender and disability issues, including:
--How to understand oneself and one¡¯s disability
--How to address challenges in relationships, with family, partners, and as a parent
--How to realize opportunities in career and personal development
Empowering Young Women with Disabilities engages participants in three ways:
--Workshops: young women with disabilities will be encouraged to discuss and reflect themselves disabilities, relationship and social value.
--Mentorship: professional women with disabilities serves as mentors and help participants gain greater awareness for career, relationship, and disability issues.
--Community Outreach Events: young women with disabilities work together to organize fun and education activities open to the public.
