On May 15th, 2013, four students from grade¡¯ 11 and grade¡¯ 12 in our school took part in the 6th English Skills Contest held by Guangzhou Open University.
The contest gathered 33 contestants from various branches of Open University. GETCH students won the first, second and third prizes. The judges spoke highly of them because of their confident performances and fluent spoken English. Miko Zhang got the first prize, Kevin Wu and Joanna Luo got the second prizes, while Grace Li got the third prize. In addition, GETCH was awarded a prize for The Best Organization. Ms. Marie-Ana Follett, GETCH¡¯s foreign teacher from VIA (Volunteers in Asia), was awarded a prize for Excellent Tutors. Congratulations!
In recent years, GETCH students have won a lot of prizes and have been doing very well in the English Skills Contest held by the Open University. On one hand, it proved that our students are hard-working and have great abilities. On the other hand, it¡¯s a proof that our school has a good quality of education.
With such a glory, we hope GETCH will become better and better, and nurture more and more outstanding students. Here, we also hope that our GETCH students can keep going, win more prizes and bring more honors to our school!
